I wanted a tattoo for as long as I could remember, but I couldn’t ever seem to make up my mind as to what I wanted. I know what I didn’t want as a design on my skin, but I could never decide on a tattoo that I wanted for more than 2 days in a row.

When I finally did figure out what I wanted, I had to find a local artist who not only did great work, but who was cool to be around. Let’s face it. If you sit in a chair for hours and hours of your life getting a tattoo, you really should enjoy being around the person using the tattoo gun.

I didn’t care much whether the artist I chose was accredited by the Better Business Bureau or not.

The Better Business Bureau is not a government body that regulates businesses, because the businesses they represent pay them for the grade they receive and BBB rating. To me, that is a conflict of interest, and I can’t go by that for a permanent tattoo on my body.

In fact, there has been recent news to suggest that the Better Business Bureau actually gives better ratings to businesses who pay more. You can see that story here.

What I do care about is whether or not my artist, and tattoo shop is in good standings with the Nevada Department of Health. This is the governing body that regulates, and checks up on tattoo shops in Reno NV to make sure they comply with any health codes in regards to proper techniques and the other health issues that should be followed by any Reno tattoo shop.
